Love On Your Back
Love On Your Back (LOYB) is a non-profit created by a group of retired teachers and other volunteers who started a new program in the Bonsall Unified School District. This program supplements the nutrition of students in the district who rely on the school district for most of their nutrition.
The backpack program supplements the food of children in the Bonsall Unified School District who are food compromised. These children can be from low-income families, children whose families are in crisis, homeless, or relying on the school for breakfast and lunch as their primary nutrition. Some students receive free or reduced breakfast and lunch at school. LOYB supplies these children by sending backpacks of food home every weekend. They contain two breakfast, lunch, and dinner items, as well as drinks and several snacks. This program gives the children good nutrition on weekends when they are not at school.
LOYB believes that children need proper nutrition in order to learn. This program aims to help all children in the Bonsall Unified School District who are in need. NO CHILD GOES HUNGRY. Children enter the program by recommendation of teachers, parents, or other district staff after the parent's permission. To learn more, visit: Loyb.weebly.com
