Manos Que Sobreviven
Oct 7, 2021 Rainbow® Sandals Foundation donated $10,000 to Manos Que Sobreviven, learn about their hard work through a message from their founder and co-founder:
"Manos Que Sobreviven received a spark for the long ride (puns intended) to initiate its long-brewing program to explore helping children by addressing their families’ food insecurity. Rainbow Sandals’ donation will create a pilot program that provides basic food staples that hopefully serves to improve children’s academic success. Called Pan y Leche (bread and milk), the program will target 15 families whose children might improve in school by eliminating food insecurity in their homes. Manos Que Sobreviven was founded by an undocumented immigrant whose gratitude for establishing himself in the US led to cooking and serving people in LA’s skid row. Eventually leading to establishing a nonprofit 501 C 3 whose mission is to help families, especially those with children of special needs. As a child in Tijuana, Canadian missionaries helped his family, and Pan y Leche is rooted in this experience.”
