Growers First is a social development organization that connects local communities with the world marketplace through growth, development, and sustainability. Based in Laguna Beach, Growers First has been operating since 2000.
With Rainbow® Sandals Foundation's $5000 donation and 250 Repair • Reuse • Recycle Rainbow® Sandals, they have delivered over 3000 wheelchairs 20000 glasses and help the farmers get their product to the marketplace. Paint over 40 schools and churches. They help in three ways:
- Environmental Assistance- equipping for certification, customer awareness, access to wholesalers and markets, providing COVID PPE, equipping with necessities such as glasses and wheelchairs.
- Economic Assistance- connecting with micro-markets, equipping for microloans, connecting to the direct marketplace, equipping for organic development.
- Educational Assistance- training in organic and certification, assistance in tradeshows, training in marketing, sponsoring of the Annual Pastors Conference. Growers First is a hands-on organization bringing "the last mile" to communities that otherwise would be left out of the marketplace due to size or financial constraints.
