The Coral Thrift Shop
Dec. 18, 2020 The Coral Thrift Shop was founded over 50 years ago, when seven local mothers wanted to make a difference in the community. These San Clemente moms were military wives whose husbands were deployed to Vietnam. They came together to help other young families. They rented a building on El Camino Real and began a thrift shop. Since then the Coral Thrift Shop has raised and donated over $3 MIllion for South Orange County youth groups. In 2019, Coral Thrift Shop honored 54 recipients with their college scholarships, totaling $67,000!
“This is a happy place,” Sandi said. “It makes you feel so good when you see a child’s face light up when finding a special book or toy they’ve wanted. It’s even better to know you’re supporting organizations that will help many children.”
Despite this longevity, volunteers are still needed. If you can help, or want to help out, stop by the store or call (949) 492-2385. 534 N El Camino Real, San Clemente, CA 92672
