FlipFlopsforHisFeet began in 2012, when 5-year-old, Easton Burdette, saw a need and wanted to help. After seeing a photo from his grandfather's recent mission trip of a little girl with no shoes, Easton came home and asked if he could send that little girl his favorite pair of shoes - his flip flops. “Of course, we agreed and began to ask family and friends if they had any flip flops that we could send as well” says Easton’s mother, Emilee. Easton began to use his allowance, birthday money, and any change that he could find to buy flip-flops.

“I'll never forget the look on his face nor the store clerk's when Easton pushed a buggy of flip flops up to the register and then handed over his big bag of change. He was so excited to get to help others and he still is!”

Since 2012, 3,300 pairs of flip flops have been sent to impoverished villages in Guatemala, Peru, and Liberia.  Easton's passion for giving to and helping others inspired and motivated the Burdette family to found a non profit humanitarian aid organization this past year called The Walk A Mile Project. The Walk A Mile Project will be taking a mission team to Panajachel, Guatemala this June. They will be building homes for the homeless, feeding villages by providing families with a month's supply of beans, rice, oil, protein mix, etc., and of course- giving out flip flops and shoes to those in need!

  • Happy Kids Fund

Natalie Chase recently teamed up with Happy Kids Fund and delivered 150 pairs of recycled Rainbow® Sandals to the orphaned and underpriveleged children in Gbi-Wegbe, Ghana. Thank you everyone who gave back your old Rainbows to our Repair • Reuse • Recycle program and helped us help others.

Originally started as a school in 1995, Elizabeth Gbone created Happy Kids as a response to the wide array of orphans and underprivileged children in rural area of Gbi-Wegbe, Ghana. Elizabeth began teaching vulnerable children under the trees. Happy Kids steadily grew to supporting over 100 children, but Elizabeth struggled to care and feed for them without proper infrastructure or resources.

In 2010, Happy Kids partnered with an American named Kelsey Finnegan to expand on Happy Kids infrastructure and implement empowering and income generating projects. Happy Kids Foundation was formally registered as a local NGO in Ghana, and has since made incredible progress.

Today, Happy Kids educates and feeds 200 children on a daily basis, and houses 50 vulnerable children and orphans. Happy Kids Foundation’s focus is on empowering the local community and children to learn income generating skills that can sustain their lives, while also sustaining the school and orphanage.

  • Urban Surf 4 Kids

The recent Rainbow® Sandals you guys have given back have gone to help the orphans in Tijuana at a program called "Nino's de la Promesa" via Urban Surf 4 Kids.

Rainbow® Sandals Ambassador Charles “Chaka” Webb has been working with Wesley Stewart founder of Urban Surf 4 Kids. For the last two years, these two individuals have found great ways to team up giving back to the community and changing lives in doing so. Urban Surf 4 Kids is a non-profit outreach organization that works with foster youth and orphaned children. Using water sports as a catalyst, Urban Surf 4 Kids teaches the disciplines of surfing and stand up paddle boarding through fun events and activities also teaching the kids how to give back to their communities and neighborhoods through local service projects. Urban Surf 4 kids has had a huge impact on all that have been involved, the staff members, volunteers, and the foster youth have all been a part of life changing events.
