  • Paying it Forward

Today we assisted the Showers of Blessings in feeding, clothing, and showering the homeless in Santa Ana. In addition to distributing the sandals you guys have return to us via our Repair • Reuse • Recycle program we gave out tents and sleeping bags for those that sleep on the streets.

Pictured Above Left: Gary is hearing impared that lost his job and is trying to get back on his feet looking for work in real estate. He has one of the most positive outlooks on life and we believe he'll get back to where he needs to be soon.

Pictured Above Right: Our CEO and founder, Jay "Sparky" Longley is speaking with Tami. Tami has been offered residence at Orange County Rescue who house, train, feed and clothe the homeless and directly work with them to get them back on track. Tami has refused the help for the past 18 months because her best friend is in a Hospice that she spends time and visits daily. Because Orange County Rescue's main goal and focus is to get the homeless back on track, they do not allow residents to leave and come back for leisure activities on their own desire and time. Therefore, Tami has decided to tough it out sleeping on the streets so she can visit her loved and only friend.

  • Family Day of Joy

We would like to thank La Iglesia en El Camino, Showers of Blessing, and the Children's Hunger Fund for hosting a great event and allowing us to be a part of the Family Day of Joy.

Family Day of Joy was an event that fed, clothed, offered medical screenings, showers, personal hygiene, etc. for underprivileged youth under 12 years-old and under in the Los Angeles area.  The sandals that you guys returned back to us were able to find a new home on the feet of these kids.

Please don't throw away your old Rainbow Sandals.  Bring them back to our factory outlet to receive 10% off a new pair and we will give them to a charity of the week.

  • 70 Pairs Donated to Showers of Blessings

Last week we you guys helped us collect 70 pairs of sandals in our “Give Rainbows” Box that we gave to Showers of Blessings who will distribute them to the homeless this Saturday, December 13th, at the Civic Center in Santa Ana.

Armando Olvera and The Showers of Blessings have made the effort to feed, cloth, and, most recently now, shower the homeless every Saturday morning in Santa Ana for 5 years. It started out only a few people bringing food and clothing and now there are more than 30 people that show up every week to help. Most recently we helped Armando obtain his dream of building a trailer that can facilitate hot showers. Over 90 homeless are taking hot showers every Saturday.

We want to help you help others.  If you’re finished with your old Rainbows and they are still wearable, bring them back to our factory outlet and receive 10% OFF a new pair. Even if they are broken, not under warranty, and you believe there is still life left in them, bring them back so we can give you a discount on a new pair, fix them, and then give them to some needy feet.

Rainbow Sandals' goal has always been to make a quality product that will not end up as landfill. Our layered construction allows us to repair where needed and instead of throwing them away, we will donate these to protect the feet of the homeless, orphaned, and victims of natural disasters.

  • Rainbow® Sandals Contributes to The Asian Elephant Foundation

Rainbow® Sandals contributed to The Asian Elephant Foundation and the first stop of the Elephant Parade in Dana Point, California.

Elephant Parade’s open air art exhibitions create worldwide attention, public awareness and support for the cause of elephant conservation: the Elephant Parade statues never go unnoticed by the wider public and mass media.

Elephant Parade is a social enterprise with a unique combination of art, business and conservation. The better the art, the higher the value of the Elephant Parade statue at auction: the life size baby elephant statues are exhibited in well-known cities and auctioned off at prestigious gala events. Smaller size hand painted limited edition replicas and other Elephant Parade merchandise are created based on the exposition elephants and sold at better stores around the world, in Elephant Parade Gallery Stores and via the Elephant Parade webshop.

The Asian Elephant Foundation auction/sell the statues and hence the foundation can support various projects. In addition to the sale of exhibition Elephant Parade elephants, 20% of Elephant Parade net profit is also distributed to The Asian Elephant Foundation. This generates a steady stream of ongoing income for the foundation.

The Asian Elephant Foundation distributes monies raised to various projects and organizations in the 13 Asian range countries, solely dedicated to the wellbeing and conservation of the Asian Elephant. In addition to this, The Asian Elephant Foundation plays an active role in awareness and educational projects around the world.

  • Thank You Eco-Farms and Family Assistance Ministries

We would like to give a big thanks to Norm, Steve, Anika and Kaitlin from Eco farms who graciously donate their grape fruits and oranges to us so we can feed those in need via Family Assistance Ministries (F.A.M)

Chanya and Sparky Longley produce avocados in Temecula.  After each harvest, there is an abundance of fruit that isn't sold and often just thrown away. Instead, Sparky and Chanya pick the avocados and then take them here to Rainbow Sandals where we prepare to feed the homeless every Saturday via organized events F.A.M. puts together.
Someone Cares Soup Kitchen (Feeds 300 people/day) , Laura's House (takes in 35 families/day), Saddleback Church (Feeds 3,000 people/day), South County Outreach (Feeds 300/Day).

Thank You again Eco-Farms for your contribution.  It's people like you who make a difference.
