    Today we were off to Anaheim, aka Riverbed City, to deliver sandwiches, bakery and cold waters. We delivered this food to those who were already distributing hot meals to pass to the residents. We also dropped off towels, soap and shampoo to the showers of blessings. 

    Our next stop was over to Mary's Kitchen where we joined in the help preparing lunch for the homeless.

    Today we gave out 50 pairs of Rainbow® Sandals from our Repair • Reuse • Recycle department and 120 pre-made sandwiches and bakery goods to Son Rise Church. Today, being the 3rd Saturday at Mary's Kitchen, were also free hair cuts, manicures, pedicures, doctor visits and clothing.

    After Mary's Kitchen we headed over to the riverbed to give Showers of Blessings 4 dozen towels and a few pairs of running shoes plus a case of eggs.

  • Tents at the Court House

    We gave out over 200 hand and foot warmers to the tent occupants, then gave to Feeding in Motion approximately 350 lb. of fresh fruits and vegetables, 250 lb. of baker items, 325 lb. of meats and 12 gallons of milk. Then, back to San Juan Capistrano (Father Serra's Pantry) delivering approximately 300 lb. of assorted bakery and canned goods.

  • 7 Day Hero

    We recently gave sandals from our Repair • Reuse • Recycle program to the impoverished children in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam via 7 Day Hero. Dr. Jerry Huson founded 7 Day Hero and has since traveled to over 40 countries providing glaucoma & cataract surgery to those who can't see. In addition to giving the gift of sight to the poor & needy, he changes the lives of the volunteers who travel with him on these trips.

  • Busy Giving Saturday

    On this Saturday morning, our first stop was to the riverbed city of Anaheim & Orange to give out soap, shampoo and some towels for the 40 plus people who received showers from Showers of Blessings. Our goal is to help keep their hygiene on an upward spiral then hopefully less trips to the ER. Then we went over to Mary's Kitchen to pass out lunch to appx. 200 plus, 40 more toys for the Christmas Giveaway and more Rainbow® Sandals from the Repair • Reuse • Recycle program.

  • Feeding in Motion & Mary's Kitchen

    Today we delivered to Feeding in Motion 45 toys, 420 lb. of meats, 225 lb. of produce and 400 lb. of bread products. After that we delivered 600 lb. of sandwiches and 300 lb. of desert items over to Mary's Kitchen.

  • Mary's Kitchen

    Mary's 12-5-17

    December 5th,

    Today we gave over 700 lbs of sandwiched & deserts, over 120 salads and approximately 225 lbs of bread to Mary's Kitchen. This food help fed about 200 for breakfast and another 200 for lunch, and was prepared and baked in their commercial kitchen. The guests that live around the riverbed mostly walk or bicycle six days a week to get nourished at this location in the city of Orange.

    A beautiful Saturday morning, seeing the smiles of those who are living out here in tents and sleeping bags...smiling because here comes hot showers and hot foods, as long as we do something for our fellow man (mankind). A lot of thanks in the words being passed around all we have to remember “ LEC “ when we speak  L=lift up E=encourage C=comfort , and hopefully many will one day  desire to do better..just a smile and a good morning hello can do so much…

    Today we were able to help shower 43 people and feed them 200 sandwiches and 60 dozen eggs.

    December 6th,

    We gave 40 pairs of sandals from our Repair • Reuse • Recycle department to Kim Sandnes who brought them to AMOS (A Ministry of Sharing Health and Hope) to the impoverished communities in Nicaragua. Alongside delivering sandals, AMOS aided in health, education and development seeking a world where no child dies of preventable disease. Click HERE to find more information on AMOS.

    Last weekend we were able to help feed 50 homeless eggs, bacon, potatoes from Martha Olvera and give away 50 pairs of Rainbow® Sandals from our Repair • Reuse • Recycle department. We also had the help of Galar Hagy who pedicured their feet.

    Our friends from Aketa Ports Planning in Japan recently visited California and spent Saturday helping the facilitate the portable showers at 2120 Rampart and give sandals from our Repair • Reuse • Recycle program to the homeless. After that they went over to Mary's Kitchen and helped feed the homeless.

  • Houston Foodbank

    Very special thanks to SYSCO for supplying a 53' refrigerated truck to pick up produce/supplies from our facility, as well as many other givers, in a B-Line to Houston Food Bank. The truck picked up 4,000lbs of lemons supplied by Eco Farms.--Thank you Enola, Richard & Norm. The truck also picked up 1,200 lbs. of Oatmeal and 1,200 pairs of sandals from our Repair • Reuse • Recycle program.

    Rampart & orange County Rescue

    We were able to give sandals, oranges and shower the homeless on the Saturday's of 8/5 & 8/12.

    Sandals and oranges were given out to the homeless at 2120 Rampart. In addition, the Showers of Blessings portable shower trailer is fixed and was up and running offering warm showers on both Saturday's. The remaining oranges were then brought to Mary's Kitchen & Orange County Rescue.

    "Showers of Blessings graciously served the homeless community. Martha, along with other volunteers, prepared a delicious warm breakfast (eggs, rice, chicken, and potato salad). Thank you to Rainbow Sandals for providing the ministry with sandals so that they can be distributed to the people! And a huge thank you to all the volunteers; this wouldn't be possible without all the prayers and help we have been receiving!

  • Families Forward

    This week Eco Farms picked from the Jay Longley's Rainbow® Ranch 1200 pounds of Avocados to give away this weekend through organizations like Feed the Need, Father Sierra Pantry, Family Assistance Ministries (FAM), South Shores Church and Families Forward. 

    Featured here is on the right is Brad Fowler from Families Forward picking up Avocados here at Rainbow® Sandals. Since 1984, Families Forward has been helping Orange County families who are homeless or at risk of homelessness to stabilize their lives, access safe and affordable housing, and move towards sufficiency. Family support is provided through personalized case management, food assistance, counseling, and career coaching, as well as financial and life skills education. 

    We would like to thank Norm and Enola from Eco Farms who help us gather all these avocados to give the those in need. We also would like to thank Families Forward and all the wonderful organizations that endeavor to help others out on the streets.
